Toledo Community Foundation Awards Grant to Conservancy
Toledo, OH –Toledo Community Foundation has made a $4000 grant to Black Swamp Conservancy. The Conservancy will use the grant money to establish an education program for young people about land conservation.
The Conservancy will utilize the funds to develop and present a day-long workshop for northwest Ohio youth, beginning with area Boy Scouts. The workshop will be offered on several dates, and take place on Conservancy-protected properties. While there, the Scouts will learn about the concepts and benefits of conservation practices, and have the opportunity to earn merit badges.
“By offering this workshop to area young people,” said Kevin Joyce, executive director of the Black Swamp Conservancy, “we hope to reach members of the community who might otherwise not have many opportunities to experience nature, first-hand.”
The Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. is a public charitable organization created by citizens of our community to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families in our area.
